Cinnamon has a long history of culinary and aromatherapy use. Cinnamon essential oil is considered a warming remedy, stimulating digestion and circulation, while supporting the immune system. Our Cinnamon zeylanicum essential oil is steam distilled from the inner bark of Cinnamon trees from Madagascar. This steam distilled variety is the one we use in one of our most popular blends, Purify, a fantastic immune booster and air freshener. The cinnamon in Purify adds to the blend’s antimicrobial properties. Cinnamon essential oil is exceptionally potent and should be used with care.
Cinnamon has been a highly prized commodity since antiquity and is one of the most recognizable scents in the world. Cinnamaldehyde is the main constituent in the bark oil. It is used in perfumery to give a blend lift and strength, and is considered a mild fixative. Use this oil with caution in soap making, because it may darken the color of your product.
Oil Specific: Avoid while pregnant and in liver or kidney disease. Do not use on skin. Not for internal use.
General: As with all essential oils, never use them in eyes or mucus membranes. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified and expert practitioner. Keep away from children. If applying an essential oil to your skin always perform a small patch test to an insensitive part of the body.
